On Monday morning, the Raiders announced they were cutting linebacker Tanner Muse, in a move that surprised many:
A surprise: The #Raiders are waiving linebacker Tanner Muse, source said.
Muse was a third-round pick out of Clemson in 2020. Missed his entire rookie season because of a toe injury, but took starter reps throughout camp and was a core special teamer.

Buuuuuut, someone forgot to relay the message to the team’s social media people.. And as a result, the Raiders Twitter account wished him a Happy Birthday just a few hours later:
This is a little awkward… pic.twitter.com/EewhXb3Ehw

Naturally, the team deleted the Happy Birthday tweet when they realized the error of their ways, but the damage had already been done, with the Twitterverse absolutely dragging the Raiders for their faux pas.
Doh!
