Raiders Rookie RB Jacobs Said Surgery ‘Went Great’ and Was the ‘Fastest Surgery Ever’

Raiders rookie running back Josh Jacobs posted on social media that his procedure “went great” and was the “fastest surgery ever” according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.

Wait, what? Apparently Jacobs underwent surgery on his lower leg on Christmas Day and shared a photo with his leg bandaged up to the knee.

Rapoport added that, “The early word on Jacobs is that the procedure he had last night should not affect his status for Sunday. That is the hope. Expect to get some clarity today.”

Jacobs was already dealing with a shoulder injury that cost him Weeks 14 and 16 so it is unknown exactly what the nature of the leg injury is or when it happened.

The Raiders have a chance to make the playoffs with a win and some help, meaning Jacobs and company will likely do everything possible to get him on the field come Sunday. DeAndre Washington will continue to work as the offense’s lead back if Jacobs remains sidelined.
