Raiders Ink Former Packers WR Jordy Nelson, Release WR Michael Crabtree

The Raiders on Thursday made a big signing in the free agent mark, basically making a trade at the wide out spot – dumping veteran Michael Crabtree and adding former Packers wide out Jordy Nelson on a two-year deal.

The 32-year-old Nelson, who missed all of the 2015 season with the Packers due to injury, was released by the team at the start of the new league year.

Crabtree’s release saves the Raiders $7.7 million on the salary cap for 2018.

Last season in 15 games he had his worst season since 2010, catching 53 passes for 482 yards and six scores, this after having an NFL high 14 scores and 1257 yards in 2016.

Crabtree in 16 games last season had 618 yards and eight touchdowns.

  1. When QB lefted for the airport, the continuity of the team was dismantled poor judgement, no one ask me but i thought i’d throw that in.
