WR/KR Josh Cribbs Inks Deal With Raiders

Josh Cribbs

The Raiders have added to their WR core and the return game, as today the team inked former Browns KR Josh Cribbs to a deal.

The team worked Cribbs out last week, and offered him a contract before he left, but he didn’t sign it. Instead he spoke to the Lions, Giants and Jets, before coming back and signing with the Raiders.

There’s been a lot of talk if the 29-year-old would be ready for 2013 after having offseason surgery on his knee.

Jets general manager John Idzik told Conor Orr of The Star-Ledger on Tuesday that Cribbs’ surgically repaired left knee “isn’t quite there yet.”

That didn’t stop the Raiders, who gave him the physical last week and it appeared were comfortable enough to ink him to a deal.

Good pickup. We need a steady KR, and I think Cribbs can fill that void. I would like to see more details on the signing, but if it’s not for too long/too much, i’ll be happy. Reggie knows what he’s doing.
