Raiders FB Reece and S Branch Absent From Offseason Workouts

Oakland Raiders fullback Marcel Reece and safety Tyvon Branch aren’t attending the voluntary offseason workouts, according to Jason LaCanfora of the NFL Network. Branch and Reece both haven’t signed their tenders, because they’re both looking for the Raiders to lock them up to long-term deals.

Reece, a Pro Bowl alternate, is a valuable member to the Raiders potent running game, is sitting on an exclusive-rights tender worth $545,000. But in reality many know he out performed that compensation. He led fullbacks in the league last season with 301 receiving yards and 117 rushing yards with two touchdowns.

Branch was franchise tagged earlier this offseason by the Raiders and he has also yet to sign his tender. Last season he led the Raiders secondary with 107 tackles with one sack and one interception.

We need to get these two signed to long term deals, and get them practicing. Especially Marcel, who needs to play an expanded role in the offense this year.
