Seymour Sorry About Ejection

Oakland Raiders defensive tackle Richard Seymour was ejected from the third quarter of the team’s 34-14 loss to the Miami Dolphins after appearing to throw a punch at Dolphins guard Richie Incognito.

It was the second time in two seasons where Seymour has been ejected from a game. Last November, Seymour was tossed out of a loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers after punching quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. After the game, Seymour apologized.

I apologize to my teammates, coaching staff and the organization, and also the Raider Nation,” Seymour said according to Jerry McDonald of the Bay Area News Group. “I’m disappointed that I wasn’t there to finish the game with my teammates. I think it’s an emotional game and I shouldn’t have let my emotions get the best of me. No excuses.”

Seymour was fined $25,000 for his punch of Roethlisberger last season. A second offense under the current fine schedule agreed upon by the NFL and NFLPA is a $50,000 fine.
