The Cincinnati Reunion Continues

The Oakland Raiders have signed T.J. Houshmandzadeh, according to the Raiders.

No matter how anyone spins this, Houshmandzadeh is there to both supercharge the learning process for Palmer and to bring a crucial, veteran presence to a team that otherwise would be fighting history along with fighting Kansas City and San Diego.

I’ve made a complaint about the Buccaneers, that they are putting a cap on themselves by only having one polished receiving weapon in his prime: Kellen Winslow. I know Mike Williams is far more valuable than many older receivers in their prime, but they have so many guys who flash but can’t get consistent separation and haven’t picked up the little things that receivers do as they get into their third-through-fifth seasons.

T.J. Houshmandzadeh has played in playoff games with the Bengals, won a playoff game with the Ravens, and has played against some of the best defenses of the last decade: those of the Ravens and Steelers.

If the Raiders are going to take the next step, winning the division, they probably weren’t going to do it with Kyle Boller throwing to Denarius Moore and Jacoby Ford. These two acquisitions show the team is “all in” to “win one for Al”.
