DE Scott Says Hue Jackson Can Lead Raiders to Super Bowl

Defensive end Trevor Scott had his 2010 campaign cut short by a torn ACL. He started all 10 games he appeared in prior to landing on injured reserve and unfortunately for Scott, the NFL Lockout has not only prevented him from returning to the field with his teammates, but prevented him from continuing to rehab the injury with the Raiders training staff.

“It’s kind of been some BS, the fact that I’ve been doing my own rehab and not allowed to talk to trainers,” Scott candidly told former teammate Jay Richardson and myself during a recent taping of the JRich Report for the forthcoming EYES Radio Network.

“I’ve been putting my faith and my trust elsewhere to the guys rehabbing me now. It just kind of sucks the whole thing.” Scott is predicting big things for the Silver and Black in 2010. “I’m feeling really good about this upcoming season,” he said. “From everybody we picked up in the draft to just where we left off last season. We went 8-8, going 6-0 in the division was incredible and something that hasn’t been done with the Raiders in a long, long time. It just really stunk that we missed the playoffs.”

Scott thinks the promotion of Hue Jackson to head coach may help the Raiders clear that next hurdle and land them a spot not only in the playoffs, but eventually in the Super Bowl. “I think Hue Jackson getting hired as a head coach is a huge step forward,” Scott stated with Richardson very much approving.

“It kind of stinks seeing coach Cable go . . . he did nothing but go up every single year, so best wishes to him, but I feel like Hue Jackson is going to take that next step to where we were and he’s going to take us to where we want to go and that is to win the AFC Championship and then win the Super Bowl.”
