Rookies Attend Raiders Workouts As QB Campbell Takes Lead Of Offense

Day one of the Raiders Southeast workouts is in the books and from all accounts the Jason Campbell led offense is ahead of the curve. Campbell had the opportunity to work with rookie second-round draft pick Stefen Wisniewski who is projected to start at center this fall.

Further, the quarterback’s previous “get together” with the Raiders receiving corps at his Washington, D.C. area home paid dividends as he was able to make some “sharp throws” to Louis Murphy along the sidelines according to Ben Beitzel of the San Jose Mercury News. Among the other offensive players attending camp were Darren McFadden, Darrius Heyward-Bey, Jacoby Ford and Louis Murphy, offensive linemen Jared Veldheer and Bruce Campbell also participated. Backup quarterback Kyle Boller took limited snaps as Campbell received the majority of action.

“The main thing is building camaraderie, seeing each other again, keeping the unity that we were getting at the end of the season going,” Campbell said, per the paper. “The other thing is seeing some plays, running and lifting weights and running some actual plays.”
