Seymour’s Hit on Big Ben Showed His Teammate Support

A lot is being made this week about Roger Goodell’s remarks about Ben Roethlisberger.  Specifically, that when he was investigating allegations of Roethlisberger’s supposed sexual assault of a Georgia college student he talked to about two dozen of Roethlisberger’s Steelers teammates and, “Not one, not a single player came to his defense”.  Further investigating showed it was inferred how many Steelers teammates and if it was at all Steeler teammates anyway.  Doesn’t matter the details…

Big Ben is not that highly liked.

Hines Ward (resident Mr. Steeler) said so last year during the allegation.  It was then verified when Richard Seymour dropped him with one jarring palm to the chin.

No one picked Big Ben up.

No one tried fighting Seymour about it.  Sure they pushed Seymour, but if it was Brady, Manning, Brees, those offensive lineman would have thrown punches and gotten thrown out themselves to protect their guy.

No one was there for Big Ben.

A joke could be made that Ben isn’t protected by the offensive line anyway, but that’s to easy.  He’s just not that liked.
