Raiders Speaking to Al Saunders About Their OC Job

Jason LaCanfora of the NFL Network reports that veteran coach Al Saunders is in Oakland today interviewing for the Raiders’ vacant offensive coordinator position.

Saunders is widely expected to be offered the job. He spent 2010 as a “consultant” in Baltimore. Regardless of who the Raiders hire as OC, new head coach Hue Jackson will call the plays. Saunders’ vast experience in the league nonetheless should prove invaluable to a first-time head coach. Saunders is a former NFL head coach (San Diego, 1986-88), and has a history of explosive offenses as a coordinator and wideouts coach.
