Former QB Russell Pleads Not Guilty to Drug Charge

Derica Williams of WALA 10 in Mobile reports that former Raiders QB JaMarcus Russell has entered a not guilty plea in his drug charge case:

JaMarcus Russell appeared in court Tuesday morning in downtown Mobile. The former NFL quarterback was arrested two weeks ago during an undercover narcotic investigation. He entered a not guilty plea. “We’ll enter a plea of not guilty,” Russell’s attorney, Donald Briskman, said. Briskman was hired shortly after the local football star was arrested on a drug charge. Russell is accused of possession of codeine syrup.
