Posted in The Raiders selection of Rolando McClain was perfect. He was the best player from the best team and is one of the Top 5 talents in the entire draft. Once Russell Okung was selected by the Seattle Seahawks, to me it was a no-brainer that the Raiders made the selection, and they did not disappoint to the chagrin of the entire media expecting them to reach again. They over-hauled their LB corp and will be a better run D than the 27th ranked one from last year.
My hope is that the Raiders trade their 2nd Round pick and get Jared Gaither. Getting a starting OL for their 2nd Round pick is a great move. Otherwise, the Raiders should select from the pool of Charles Smith (OT USC), Brian Price (DT UCLA) or Terrence Cody (DT Alabama). They will have drafted 2 starters with immediate impact, making it their most successful draft in the last 5 years. IF they make the move to draft Jimmy Clausen, I wouldn’t be disappointed with that either; they will have selected a 1st round QB in the 2nd round who can start for them day 1.
