Raiders Starting QB Still A Mystery

Oakland Raiders head coach Tom Cable

It looks like it will be Wednesday at the earliest before Oakland Raiders head coach Tom Cable announces who will start behind center when the team faces the Cleveland Browns this Sunday.

Depending on his participation in practice for the balance of this week and the overall state of his knees, Bruce Gradkowski would likely start while Charlie Frye would be the second-in-command. Which begs the question: Where does JaMarcus Russell fit in the grand scheme of things? According to Cable:

“There were some things in that game yesterday that he could have taken advantage of, before that last throw, or the last couple of throws and all that, would have really put that, in my mind, to make that kind of statement.”

“He made the ones that counted right there at the end to get it done. And that’s a big deal for him personally. I think it’s good for his teammates to see him go in there in that situation and get it done when it really had to get done.”

When the Raiders quarterback situation clears up, Raiders Gab will bring any and all information to you that becomes available.
