The Raiders are set to throw on the pads for the first time Monday after four non-hitting practices.
“Intensity is good, though, and aggressiveness is good, and maybe there will be a fight or two,” Nnamdi Asomugha said. “Maybe we’ll get the juices flowing that way, but it will be good.”
The Raiders spent the early part of training camp simply learning plays and learning where to go on the field. Monday they will look to include hitting in the next phase of moving forward.
“I think guys are really ready to start going and ready to start hitting,” Asomugha said. “As far as the corners, we don’t hit that much anyways, so we’re pretty much doing what we’ll be doing anyway. It’s good that we’ll finally be able to get our hands on the ball and be able to judge it and see how well we’re actually doing, because right now you really don’t know.”
Monday probably won’t give that much more of an indication, but at least it’s a start.
