LB Ricky Brown Appears to be a Backup Again in 2009

FoxSports.com reports that it appears that linebacker Ricky Brown is headed back to being a backup as the MLB spot in 2009:

The Raiders gave linebacker Ricky Brown a $1.7 million tender despite serious groin surgery to repair a double sports hernia and groin tears. Ostensibly, it was so he could resume his role at strong-side linebacker. However, for the second straight camp, Brown has been played at middle linebacker, running with the second team behind Kirk Morrison, with Jon Alston working as the starter on the strong side.
