Raiders Expected to Name Cable Full-Time Coach
It looks like the Raiders are not going to go very far in picking their head coach for the 2009 season, as reports from NFL Network’s Adam Schefter say that the team is going to go with Tom Cable. Of course the Radiers are denying the report, and are saying that as of right now no decision has been made.
Schefter says that Raiders owner Al Davis started telling people around the league that a choice has been made and that Cable is going to be the teams new coach. Cable likely won the coaching derby after two wins in the Raiders the last two weeks, with a key win coming in week 17 over former Raiders coach Jon Gruden and the Buccaneers in Tampa Bay.
Cable was named the teams interim coach after Davis fired Lane Kiffin early in the 2008 season.

I’ll be happy if they sign cable as the full time coach(i wish we could’ve got gruden back) but i’d be satisfied with him, only thing is, all of our 08 coaches have all left and now we have to hire new ones! I hope that al (davis) does one thing intelligent and hire some experienced guys to help cable out and get us a WCO and a shut down D in there!! Hopefully we can have aa greaet draft and not be stupid with our picks eventhough thats what al davis does and we can do good in free agency and not bring in old, injury prone guys that cant do a thing but stay on the sidelines hurt. other than Gibril Wilson all of our other “great, expensive” free agents our no longer even on the team! We shouldntve even wasted the $ on Hall considering hes not good in Man coverage DUHHHH!!! Hopefully Javon Walker can decide to show up this year…..Ive been a fan of the raiders since i was old enough to watch football and i aint going no where!!! Ill be a fan no matter what!! I’m looking forward to next years season altho our opponents our going to be some tough competition! THE WEST IS OURS!!!!!!!

A REAL COACH …. CABLE PULLED OFF A COUPLE OF WIN’S LAST YEAR WITH CORDINATORS THAT DIDN’T USE HIS SCHIEMS .. RUNNING SCHIEM.. THE RAIDERS HAVE THREE GOOD RUNNING BACKS.. THE RAIDERS CAN USE THE SAME RUNNING STYLE, THE GAINTS USED IN (2007-2008). A SEASON AGO.TOM CABLE LIKES TO RUN THE FOOTBALL, HE CAN USE THE 7TH ORVALL DARTF PICK THIS YEAR ON A BIG OFFENSE TAKLE OR IF ARON CURRY FALLS YEAH SHOULD TAKE HIM.

Looks like Cable is the guy!
I’d be lying if I said this was a great moment, but I’m 100% behind him and wish we had done this earlier.
He got the team to respond late in the season and he knows the Raider way of doing things so let’s hope that is good for 9 wins next season.
