While no one outside the Raiders organization knows if the visit is for business or pleasure, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell will be in attendance this Sunday as Oakland plays host to the New England Patriots. According to the “San Francisco Chronicle,” Raiders owner Al Davis extended the invitation to Goodell and the visit is believed to be the first for an NFL commissioner to the Coliseum. One topic that might come up during conversations between Davis and Goodell– the stadium lease negotiations (or lack thereof) between the team and the city of Oakland. While the stadium underwent major renovations after the 1995 season as part of the agreement to bring the team back from Los Angeles, it’s been no secret Davis would love to have a new facility built. The team’s current lease at the Coliseum expires after the 2010 season.
