Raiders Ready to Waive DeAngelo Hall?

Hall breaks up a pass
While the Raiders are having one tough season, the team may be pulling the plug on one of their bigger off season pickups that they grabbed via trade. Adam Schefter of NFL Network is reporting that the Raiders may actually release former Falcon and first-round pick corner back DeAngelo Hall. Schefter says the team was going to do it today, on the teams off day, but did back off.

They still may do the deed on Wednesday, this before the team gets back to practice getting set for their second straight home game, this against the Carolina Panthers Sunday. The Raiders gave Atlanta a second-round pick for Hall, and also gave him $8 million, meaning if they waive him they would have paid him one million dollars per game. Not good for a CB that has been not very good in 2008.

The team is reportedly going to put Hall on waivers, meaning that he would go to a team that puts a claim in for him. If no one claims him, he’ll be free to sign where ever he would like. There are enough teams out there that need corner help that would grab him before he makes it through the other 31 teams to being unrestricted.

If Hall is a cancer, and he probably is, the can him. But am I the only one that feels Al has finally lost it completely? It’s a 21st Century game with 21st Century players, time to adapt and it’s now time for Al to retire and extend a power of attorney to a trusted member of the executive staff. I can’t continue to see my beloved Raiders being the laughing stock of the rest of the Country & I blame the man at the top. If I could say one thing to Mr. Al Davis – Fire yourself!!

My take on the fall of Raider Nation…there is only 1 person to blame, and that is Al Davis.

If anyone can get this message to Al Davis let him know this>>>
Mr. Davis I realize you love this team but it’s time to let go. You’ve had your great moments but the game his pasted you by. Your hurting the organization more than your helping and you’ve got to see that. You would be more respected if you stepped down because you knew that it was time to go. Rather than have fans, reports, bloggers and even your OWN people begging for you to go and having to leaving under those circumstances. Don’t ruin your legacy it’s time to go.
