Raiders Bring Back QB Tuiasosopo

Posted by Matt Loede on May 23rd, 2008 filed in News

The Raiders signed veteran free-agent quarterback Marques Tuiasosopo yesterday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The move brings the career backup QB back to the team that drafted him and it’s expected he’ll battle Andrew Walter for the position behind starter JaMarcus Russell. The Raiders originally selected Tuiasosopo in the second round of the 2001 Draft. The 29-year old former University of Washington star spent last season with the New York Jets but never saw any playing time. During his stay with the “Silver and Black,” Tuiasosopo completed 48 of 88 passes for 550 yards and two touchdowns in 11 games. He finished his college career with 5,501 passing yards and 31 touchdowns while also rushing for 1,374 yards, a school-record for QBs, and 20 scores.

The NFL is not listening and now it’s time to storm the gates. What can the average father do? He can instruct his children not to follow professional sports because of the obvious lack of integrity. Will this solve the underlying problem? Not quickly enough, that’s for sure. So organizing protests during games and boycotting advertisers products is ultimately more effective and timely. The NFL needs to take action now, before the season starts. It is not acceptable for the New England Patriots to retain the Super Bowl Trophies and the games simply must be awarded to there opponents in those games. Sadly, “cheating” and “sport” have become synonymous within the NFL. If the Patriots have any integrity, they’ll fire Belichick. If the NFL has any integrity, it will ban Bill Belichick from the league for life.
    Anything less renders sportsmanship meaningless.
    Now we have a plan…

We should’ve signed a premier backup quarterback because JaMarcus doesn’t have what it takes to start this year.
