Oakland Ready to Say “So Long” to K Janikowski

Are the Raiders ready to cut ties with former first rounder kicker Sebastian Janikowski? The Denver Post today had a tidbit that Janikowski is on his way out in Oakland, and that “some in the league expect the Raiders to part ways with inconsistent kicker.” Since drafting Janikowski in the first round in the 2000 draft, there have been a lot of ups and downs. He has played in 125 total games, going 76.8 percent from field goal range, and 99.3 percent on extra points. This past season he was 23-for-32 from field goal range, and just 6-for-11 from 50+ plus. He also has had some off the field, which could push the Raiders even more into letting him go.

I wouldn’t believe anything coming out of Denver, but I also wouldn’t miss him as much as I would our Punter…

the experiment s/b over. big al got ray guy in a similar manner years ago and it payed off. janokowski has never really done what he was supposed to-CONSISTENTLY. he’s not worth the leauge minimum imho. probably do real well in donkeyland with the thinner air but even then he couldn’t do two 52 yarders back to back to win a game.(i was there) blanda, yaeger, bahr et all are most likely ashamed at what this prick has done to our once feared kicking game.
cut him loose.
