Free Agent to Be Newberry Wants to Back with the Raiders

The Oakland Tribune is reporting that center Jeremy Newberry, who is set to become a free agent , wants to come back to the Raiders. The story is that Newberry is not the Pro Bowl player that he was with San Fran, but has done a good enough job after missing nearly two years with knee problems, and deserves to get a long look. The team went from 29th in the league rushing to 6th this past season, and from 32nd to fifth in time of possession. While a lot of things need to be worked out for the Silver and Black, Newberry is a good enough fit to come back for another round in 2008.
