The Raiders are going in another direction as far as their defense is concerned. For the second straight season the team was beat up in terms of stopping the run, and according to the Sacramento Bee and the NFL Network, it’s caused defensive coordinator Rob Ryan his job. Ryan will likely be able to find work quickly according to the reports, as one source says that the Jets will take a hard look at bringing Ryan in. He is a good friend of Jets coach Eric Mangini, and that relationship could push the Jets to fire Bob Sutton and bring Ryan in to take over the defense. No word on any possible front runners for the coordinator job with the Raiders.
