Sapp Awaits NFL Ruling

Today could be the day that Raiders defensive tackle Warren Sapp learns his fate for this weekend’s regular season finale against San Diego for his actions during Sunday’s 49-11 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, which included bumping into an official. The NFL is expected to suspend the 13-year veteran, who was ejected during a sequence of events late in the first half in Jacksonville that saw the Raiders get called for four unsportsmanlike conduct penalties– three of which were on Sapp. There was confusion as to whether Oakland accepted or declined a penalty on Jacksonville and Sapp was upset that the officials made their final decision without ever discussing the situation with his team. The 35-year old Florida State product was finally ejected from the game after receiving his third infraction– reportedly for bumping into official Garth DeFelice. Even is he’s not suspended, Sapp could still receive a hefty fine.
