Raiders Finally Back in the Win Column 20-17 over Chiefs

LaMont Jordan celebrates a TD

The “streak” is over! Daunte Culpepper went 15-of-22 passing for 170 yards while Justin Fargas ran for 139 yards and a touchdown to help lead the Oakland Raiders past the Kansas City Chiefs, 20-17, at Arrowhead Stadium. LaMont Jordan added a five-yard touchdown run while Sebastian Janikowski nailed a pair of field goals for the Raiders, who snapped a nine-game losing streak to the Chiefs, a 17-game skid to AFC West opponents and a six-game slide overall to improve to 3-and-8 on the season. It was the Raiders’ first win against a division opponent since a 25-24 win at Denver on November 28th, 2004 and their first victory in Kansas City since January 2nd, 2000. Chiefs quarterback Brody Croyle went 12-of-23 passing for 145 yards and an interception while rookie running back Kolby Smith ran for 150 yards and two touchdowns but it wasn’t enough as Kansas City lost its fourth straight game to fall to 4-and-7. The Raiders host the Denver Broncos this Sunday afternoon.
