McCown out

Raiders quarterback Josh McCown has a cracked bone in his index finger on his throwing hand according to Adam Schefter of NFL Network.  According to Schefter, McCown broke the bone on the last play of Sunday’s loss to the Lions.  The Raiders are still working on the final language of the deal for first round and number one pick JaMarcus Russell.  The reps for Russell and the Raiders are continuing to wrap up what will become a six-year deal.  Russell is expected to be on the field for practice on Wednesday once the deal is finalized.

As for McCown, it does not appear that he will be able to go on Sunday vs the Broncos as of this point, as he was unable to grip a football at Raiders headquarters.  It looks as if right now vs the Broncos that Daunte Culpepper, who lost out in the competition vs McCown in the preseason, will now be the starter.  It is not known as of now as to how long McCown will be sidelined.
