Russell Update

According to Bay Area reporters, Raider’s #1 pick JaMarcus Russell’s agent Eric Mentz is continuing talks with Raider officials that could secure Russell a rookie record 30 million guaranteed money.  At this point, neither side has commented on these reports.  Historically, the Raiders are known for getting players signed by camp, but 1 Raider insider has stated that a hold-out by Russell is a possibility.  Another thing that may hinder Russell’s report to camp is that fact that even if a contract is agreed upon, is still has to go through lawyers and be approved by the league.
