Jordan “On the Downswing” Says

Jordan has released a list of “Players on the Downswing” and Raiders RB LaMont Jordan has made the list.  Below are the comments on LaMont from the site:

LaMont Jordan, Oakland Raiders – With all the expectations placed on him when he joined the Raiders, it is fair to say Jordan has been a disappointment. After averaging 5.2 yards per carry in his last year with the New York Jets, Jordan has failed to impress with the Raiders. In two years with them, he has totaled just 1,459 rushing yards in 23 games (22 starts). His yards-per-carry average has also dropped to 3.8 over the past two years. What this has shown is that he doesn’t appear have the ability to be a feature back in a system. Even with the poor rushing numbers, in 2005 he finished with 70 receptions for 563 yards. That number dropped to just 10 last year. Without any receptions, Jordan doesn’t bring a whole lot to the table. The situation around him also looks bleak. The Raiders signed running back Dominic Rhodes from the Indianapolis Colts this past offseason, and they also drafted University of Louisville running back Michael Bush. Both could see time in the offense (Rhodes, after he returns from a four-game suspension), meaning Jordan could find playing time hard to come by. This could be the year to take a pass on him.
